Boeing Says 737 MAX Software Fix For New Flaw Won't Be Ready Until September

Published on 07/18/19 / In News & Politics

According to a report by Reuters, Boeing said that it will take until at least September to fix a newly identified problem on its grounded 737 MAX, delaying the jet's return to service until October at the earliest. On Thursday, the Chicago-based company announced that the latest software update for the 737 MAX would be complete by September after a newly discovered issue arose during a simulator test last week. Reuters reports that once Boeing completes the update, the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration has to review the update and the results of a certification test flight that will not be scheduled until at least September, a process expected to take at least two to three weeks.
