Brian Madeux is a patient who was diagnosed with Hunter syndrome, an incurable disease, over 44 years ago. Scientists are trying to cure him by administering the first, experimental in-body gen-editing treatment. Dr. Edward Conner, senior vice president and chief medical officer of Sangamo Therapeutics, maker of new therapy, stated, “The infusion takes place for anywhere from two to three hours. And that’s it. We’re very hopeful.”
