The Heat: Disappearance of journalist Jamal Khashoggi Pt1
Saudi Arabia has assured the United States it will conduct a complete and transparent investigation into the fate of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and King Salman in Riyadh on Tuesday, before meeting with Turkish leaders in Ankara on Wednesday.
Turkish officials believe Khashoggi was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul on October 2, when he tried to obtain marriage papers — an accusation the Saudi’s strongly deny.
Forensic teams have searched the consulate for possible evidence and plan to inspect vehicles and the main residence. Before his departure, Pompeo told reporters the Saudi leadership promised answers.
